Pyper, Inc. is Hiring a Creative Designer Near Saint Petersburg, FL

THE ROLE We’re looking for a Creative Designer who excels at the design process from ideating to production. The ideal candidate sees graphic design as a tool for solving our clients’ problems and understands its place in a larger marketing strategy. You care about the message and function of a deliverable as much as the way it looks.

We’re not niche! You will work closely with the Creative Director to build authentic visual identities for a variety of industries and audiences. You embrace the fast paced, priority-shifting nature of agency life, while coming up with big ideas without a big head.

Key Responsibilities & Qualities We’re Looking for

  • Design: Branding, websites, email marketing, social media, print materials, packaging, signage—ensuring everything in a campaign is cohesive, using best practices, and fit for the brand and its audience. You help the Pyper, Inc. brand stay fresh and fierce looking, while juggling all stages of client projects—whether creating concepts from scratch or expanding existing brands.
  • Organization: Embrace and uphold our processes, ensuring files are packaged and follow naming conventions. You’re adept at prioritizing tasks and perceptive—you actually proofread content you are given to lay out and don’t just copy and paste. You are accountable and resourceful, and you effectively articulate questions and concerns to the team to ensure client success.
  • Learning & Creativity: You have a willingness to try, fail, and learn when working under pressure and with limitations. You seek to learn new technologies and techniques in order to grow as a designer and help the agency grow.
  • Team Player: Your positive attitude makes collaboration fun. Concept and design decisions are based on what is in the best interest of the client and the team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4-7 years of working in an agency, in-house marketing department, or similar setting. We need an ass-kicker, but not another Director. If you have less than 4 years as a designer, and no agency experience, you probably do not have the breadth, depth, and constitution we are looking for. Conversely, if you have more than 7 years, you are probably not in our salary range.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud––meaning you don’t just use Illustrator to lay out every deliverable
  • Must be skilled in responsive web design—some experience wireframing in Figma and developing in Webflow required, familiarity with Client First a plus
  • A stellar and diverse portfolio—must include examples of branding projects
  • Experience working in a variety of media from traditional to digital
  • Knowledge in motion design, photography, videography a plus

Company Benefits

  • Competitive pay. Pay commensurate with experience and expertise.
  • 100% Paid employee healthcare. Optional vision and dental coverage.
  • Life insurance. Company sponsored policy.
  • 401(k). With company match.
  • Flexible schedule. Early bird or night owl? We offer employees flexibility to their days. Team works from home on Mondays. Local candidates only please.
  • Paid downtown parking. Parking space in Downtown St. Pete parking garage—can be used for fun on the weekends too.
  • Paid time off. 12 vacation days, 6 sick days, 8 holidays annually.
  • Professional development. Opportunities to engage with a career coach.
