Job description

The Laser Programmer’s primary purpose is to safely meet quality standards and production schedules for the Amada Laser machine. Must have 3-5 years of experience programming Amada Laser using Dr. ABE programming software.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Program machines using Amada software to complete parts per customer specifications. Our lasers, loader, and parts picker utilizing various software.

• Setup & Operate Amada CNC Lasers / Press Brake

• Familiarity with all Tooling

• Ensure safely operated assigned Amada Laser / Press Brake using the proper techniques and methods.

• Ensure properly and efficiently set up the Amada machines for each scheduled job.

• Safely operate assigned Laser cutting table using the proper techniques and methods.

• Ensure that all parts processed meet the customer's required quality level. All issues must be reported to the Shift Manager and/or Quality Assurance personnel.

• Follow the daily production schedule as noted on the Scheduling Board and communicate any delays to the Programmer/Scheduler.

• Complete all production paperwork for each job that is cut on the assigned cutting table.

Required Qualifications

· 3-5 years of Programming experience working in a manufacturing environment.

· Must have strong work ethics

· Must be well organized and a self-starter

· Must be able to follow all safety standards throughout working shift

· Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable

· Ability to generate and maintain ongoing department reports

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

· Ability to interact with coworkers in a professional manner

· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Education/Experience

· 3 – 5 years Programming experience Amada Laser using software; ABE Planner, Draft site, Blank CAM, AutoCAD 2D, and CAM process.

· High School Diploma or GED

· Experience in a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

Working Conditions

· Position will work independently and within a team on-site

· Position requires standing for majority of the shift, in a non-temp controlled environment.

· Position is exposed to activity throughout a manufacturing/machinery/shop setting

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to stand the majority of an 8-hour day, 5 days a week.
