Staff Geologist | Pittsburgh, PA

Job Summary: The Staff Geologist manages field projects, completes all field tasks, including mobilization, sampling materials in the field, documentation of field procedures, and any related tasks in support of field efforts. The Staff Geologist professionally prepares documents (figures, tables, text, email correspondence, etc.) to describe and/or present results.
Responsibilities:
Works on projects related to Underground Tank Inspection, Phase I & II Environmental Site Inspections, and use of Geoprobe Drill Rig. 

• Conducts fieldwork (Phase I & II ESA), sample collection, sample delivery, document sampling procedures.
• Receives and reviews analytical data, assembles tables, figures (with assistance from staff GIS and Technicians).
• Prepares conclusions and recommendations in written and verbal form.
• Reviews technical field staff reports/work products for accuracy and grammar.
• Works with Environmental Technicians for project completion.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or applicable degree program.
•  Professional Geologist (PG) certification in PA preferred.

Experience/Requirements:

• Minimum 5 Years of experience in Geology, Environmental Remediation projects.
• Job requires the ability to navigate over rough terrain, urban, rural and industrial sites. 
• Must have a valid driver’s and safe driving record. 
• Must also be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, operating a computer keyboard and general office equipment. 

Required Competencies:

• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Working knowledge of DEP and other compliance
• Solid knowledge of general environmental health and safety standards
• Completion of OSHA HAZWOPER training
• Ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license
