Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs prescribed radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Performs prescribed procedures at a high degree of technical level that is consistent with the Department of Radiology standards. The level of service is provided on patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. This position is available as part time or full time in our North Putnam Family Healthcare Clinic, with the availability to fulfill shifts at the main Hospital campus location.

Job Requirements: Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures. Provides patient education as it relates to exam accomplished. Calls patients to verify appointment and answer patient questions in regard to their exam. Provides direction and instruction to students or any health care professional. Assists in maintaining department and patient records respecting confidentiality and established policy. Responsible for calling results, copying exams, mailing exams and providing records for release to patients as needed. Provides input for equipment purchase and supply decisions. May be responsible for supply ordering as requested by the radiology manager. Assumes responsibility for assigned areas and report any equipment malfunction to the manager or designee. Is responsible for keeping work areas and cassettes clean and organized. Participates in the department QA and improvement plans. May be responsible for specific QC duties.
Observes standard precautions and complete the annual mandatory in service.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Current CPR certification
Completion of an American Medical Associated approved program of Radiology Technology and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) also approved by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
Registered or registry eligible by the (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
General certificate presented by the Indiana Department of Health.
Continues to score average or above on the yearly merit evaluation.
Ability to advance knowledge base of this profession through experience and continuing education.
Ability to organize work and establish priorities.
Must provide compassionate care to all patients.
Preferred skills: Knowledge of fluoroscopy, surgical, special procedures, or portable radiography
