Job Summary: | Provides health care services applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs computed tomography and related procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomic images for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient's conditions essential for completion of the procedure. Includes patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly. |
Job Duties/Responsibilities: | |
• | Operates computed tomography procedures. |
• | Selects appropriate exam program and parameters for exam. |
• | Verifies informed consent for and assists licensed practitioner during interventional CT procedures. Applies aseptic techniques. |
• | Evaluates images for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and provides hard copy records assuring proper identification is recorded. |
• | Performs all CT examinations on a daily/weekly rotation with other CT technologists. |
• | Responsible for room set-up and clean up. |
• | Responsible for CT department supplies. |
• | Responsible for CT contrast media inventory. |
• | Responsible for preparation of CT patients. |
• | Responsible for checking lab results prior to contrast injection. |
• | Is able to coordinate biopsy-scheduling procedures with appropriate departments. |
• | Responsible for CT emergency callback on a rotational basis with fellow CT technologists. |

Job Requirements: | |
• | Graduate of a Radiologic Sciences program approved by the AMA and JRCERT. |
• | Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). |
• | Current certification with the Indiana State Board of Health (ISBH). |
• | Radiographer fulfilling a competency in Computed Tomography. |
• | Above average annual Radiologic Sciences performance evaluation. |
• | Current CPR-C or better. |
• | Accurate data entry |
• | Ability to multi-task |
• | Excellent organizational and time management skills |
• | Strong attention to detail |
• | Ability to work well with a rural health/diverse population. |
• | Tact and diplomacy when working with other department employees, hospital staff, medical and nursing staff, patients, patient's families, and the general public |
