Summary:
- Status: Part-Time and Full-Time positions available, hourly, non-exempt.
- Full-Time Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 403b retirement, and childcare.
- Schedule: Sun-Thur and Mon-Fri positions available.
- Availability: Employee would work at least 20 hours a week and would be flexible for any day of the week or weekend.
- Pay: $18.00-$20.00 DOE per hour.
Job Description: At Pursuit NW, we don't just think of being on the facilities team as just a job, it also means we are in the ministry of being stewards of buildings God has allocated for us to do ministry in. A Custodian's main responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facilities. A custodian with flexibility, servant's heart, and aptitude to their best will do best in this position. It is also important to understand the flow of ministry, to anticipate facility needs. General work will require set up and tear down, minor repairs, and facility maintenance, in addition to custodial work.
Responsibilities:
- Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
- Performs routine maintenance activities.
- Performs heavy cleaning duties.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
- Gathers and empties trash.
- Scrubs sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
- Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
- Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
- Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
- Shampoos or steam-clean carpets and rugs.
- Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Patching and painting walls.
- Light repair work.
- Assist with set up and transition for Sunday services, and various church ministry events.
- Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, or perform repetitive motion for many hours.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
- Time management and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform work at heights.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Be committed to Pursuit, and loyal to its senior leadership.

- Be able to pass both local and federal background checks.
- Follow all PURSUIT policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Working on or graduated from high school or G.E.D.
- Prior work experience or volunteering preferred.
