Title: Maintenance Technician

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Assistant Operations Manager

Objective:

· Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair and replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum safety, quality and productivity.

Responsibilities:

· Maintains and adheres to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

· Ensures city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.

· Maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment.

· Maintain and organize shop areas to include tools and parts.

· Assist in monitoring the organization, use, and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.

· Perform preventive maintenance and review the operation of plant equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Clean and maintain work area.

· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment as required.

· Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and Repair Orders to perform required maintenance and service.

· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the Lead Maintenance person and/or the Operations Supervisor.

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and be on call when scheduled.

· Meet the daily housekeeping requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift a maximum weight up to 20 pounds frequently; 75 pounds occasionally.

· Must be able to carry a maximum weight up to 20 pounds frequently; 110 pounds occasionally.

· Must be able to push a maximum force of 110 pounds occasionally.

· Must be able to pull a maximum force of 110 pound occasionally.

Positional Demands:

· Frequently standing, reaching forward, balancing, feeling, object handling, simple hand grasping, firm hand grasping and operating controls will be required.

· Occasional sitting, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching overhead, stooping, crouching and fingering will be required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

· Skill in examining, evaluating, and proposing re-engineering of equipment and operations.

· Ability to communicate and interact with suppliers at all levels to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

· These requirements may be acquired through a combination of a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years maintenance manufacturing experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $31.20 per hour
