Job Summary Description:

Under the direction of the crew foreman, the Operator will conduct all that daily routine activities associated with trenchless pipe rehabilitation installation in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Job Accountabilities:

• Operates any of the following types of equipment: front-end loaders, backhoe, excavator, air compressor, 10-ton winch.
• Checks and fuels vehicles and performs light mechanical adjustments and assists mechanics in performing repairs on assigned equipment.
• Performs tasks such as setting up trench jacks, chipping manholes, repairing manholes, and fusing pipe.
• Distributes notices to residents and businesses as instructed.
• Assists with installation of the pipe, reconnect services, restoration and clean up, sets up equipment, and loads equipment once the job is completed.
• Utilizes all safety equipment and follows standard operating procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Incumbent must possess and demonstrate proficiency in the above responsibilities. Must demonstrate good communication and interaction skills.
• Holds CDL class A or B
• Must be accurate, detailed, reliable, and able to follow orders on projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must have ability to be proactive and trouble shoot.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of standard field pipe rehabilitation installation procedures.
• Must be able to work in extreme work environments, conditions, and confined spaces.
