Objective of the Position: Assist Management to ensure OEE and Labor Standards are met, safely and within budget continually improving customer confidence to drive profitability. Manage the Supply base to ensure production schedules are met, inventories levels are maintained, and high Supplier performance is achieved. Act as the functional lead for all material planners in the plants and coordinate to ensure all defined processes are in place. Drive best practices across the sites as it relates to material planning and scheduling.
Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • This position requires 25% travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile
  • Roll out of global SAP planning and scheduling standards within Plants of the BU.
  • Implement the production schedule plan (MPS) considering all aspects of production include low cost, timeliness, and effectiveness.
  • Governance of planning related master data set up and support cleaning master data.
  • Apply, optimize and monitor PC&L planning reporting system.
  • Define, set up and monitor actions to achieve the BU targets.
  • Act as a functional lead for material and production schedulers in the Plants of the BU.
  • Tracking, reviewing and problem solving of factors which affect material and production schedules.
  • Analyze Material Planning and Scheduling relevant KPI’s to identify further saving/optimizing potentials.
  • Lead weekly meetings with plant schedulers to improve accuracy of scheduling and planning.
  • Proactive challenging and improving of SAP planning processes within and between Plants of the BU.
  • Develop and continuously improve PC&L excellence standards, methods and tools in and with SAP.
  • Team building, develop trainings and routines for material planners and schedulers.
  • Drive PC&L planning workshops and projects together with plant functions.
  • Implement MPS process at all sites focusing on Brighton MI in the beginning
  • Bring skill sets of material scheduling in plants
  • Lead weekly meeting with plant schedulers to improve accuracy of scheduling and planning
  • Improve the KPI’s related to material planning and scheduling
  • Train and develop routines for material planners and schedulers
  • Act as a functional lead for material schedulers in the plant
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Material Planning or closely related field.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the automotive industry
  • Minimum three years’ experience in planning and scheduling.
  • APICS (CPIM) certification preferred.
  • Must have extensive planning experience with ERP systems to include: Shipping receiving transactions, Item master transactions, Purchase documents transactions, Planning table, MRP calculations, Capacity information, Routing and BOM transactions and Master Scheduling. SAP experience is a plus.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
