Job Description
The primary role of the Communications Specialist position is to assist with overall communication strategy at Purdue Musical Organizations (PMO). Work with PMO staff to examine current communications, develop communication strategy to reach multiple audiences through various communications channels- social media, websites, newsletters, listservs, and campaigns.
The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a marketing and communications environment. The Communications Specialist position should work 10 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The Communications Specialist position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
$11.25 per hour starting wage
Prerequisite(s)
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in copywriting and communication strategies, especially those related to nonprofit organizations.
Transferable Skill Development:
Students employed in this role will develop and demonstrate a number of transferable skills essential for future employment success and be reviewed on these skills in their performance evaluation.
