The Managing Director of the Office of Academic Affairs functions as a senior administrative leadership resource for all faculty affairs related matters within the College of Engineering. The director will work with associate dean of the faculty to provide leadership, vision, strategy and management for the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), playing an integral role in the management of programs, policy and processes relating to faculty recruitment and retention, faculty professional development and recognition, faculty governance, programs to diversify faculty talent pipeline, prestige-enhancing programs for the College such as distinguished lecture series and prestigious postdoctoral fellowship programs. They will oversee faculty recruitment and hiring processes to ensure search effectiveness and timeliness to hire the best, diverse faculty talent, as well as dual career job assistance and relocation efforts for both current and prospective faculty. They will direct administrative workflow for programs in the OAA, provide leadership in developing and implementing a dynamic professional development program and prestige-enhancing programs, ensuring faculty impact across teaching, research, and engagement/service for faculty at all levels and including tenure-track/tenured, faculty of practice, and research faculty. They direct the execution of strategies developed by the College of Engineering leadership. The Managing Director supervises the staff members working at Engr. OAA team. This is an area of growing importance in the College with a likely need for additional staffing in the future. The Director of External Recognition at OAA will have a dotted line to the Managing Director.
