Lab Assistant Needed:

Full-Time Position

Expected Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 am - 4 pm

Hands-On Paid Training. Benefits available.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

The Lab Assistant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all lab activities, communicating with other lab technicians, and ensuring all lab-related projects are completed as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Receiving and recording samples
  • Collecting oil samples from production tanks
  • Record test results accurately in electronic systems.
  • Calling out communications to the operations team via radio
  • Preparing and shipping customer oil samples
  • Perform laboratory administrative tasks such as:
  • Managing laboratory inventory
  • Laboratory cleaning
  • Glass wear cleaning
  • Managing sample retain inventory.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Support the lab supervisor and technicians in prioritizing tasks and projects.
  • Maintain the lab communications board.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College Degree – preferred
  • Minimum of two years of chemistry/lab experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Must have excellent communication and cooperative skills to ensure a smooth flow of data between locations and internal departments.
  • Strong technical skills (Excel, Access, etc.); experience with Epicor a plus.
  • Excellent analytical ability required.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with managers, customers, peers, and team members.
  • Ability to work well in a team encompassing many disciplines as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
