Buyer

We are looking for an amazing Buyer to join our team at Pura. The candidate will be responsible for working with sourcing and supply planning in order to ensure on-time and efficient ordering of product to support timely delivery that meets our business needs.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

• Reliable understanding of MRP (NetSuite preferred, or equivalent)
• Experience in Arena, or other similar PLM software
• Sound understanding of all supply chain functions, including demand planning, supply planning, sourcing, logistics and contract manufacturing
• Familiar with New Product Introductions, including the ability to assist in overseeing the full scope of responsibilities, ranging from product development to official launch 
• Strong core focus on weekly open order reviews with suppliers and production prioritization according to fluctuations in demand 
• Broad knowledge of commodities - including print and packaging, raw materials, hard goods, and electronics. 
• Ability to improve and implement processes to foster better supply chain efficiencies

This is for a full-time position at our Pleasant Grove office.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Buyer

• Oversee and maintain inventory for your product category
• Maintain system accuracy, including lead-time, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc
• Daily interaction with cross-functional partners, reporting on production and delivery timelines of open purchase orders
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
• Assist per the direction of Sourcing in pricing negotiations with suppliers
• Assess and coordinate financial risks of purchases with appropriate stakeholders, i.e., Finance, Marketing, Sales
• Coordinates necessary product specification revisions and deviations as needed with suppliers
• Assists other departments with problem resolution involving discrepancies between purchase order, delivered quantity, quality and/or price
• Identifies cost savings opportunities and assists in achieving yearly cost reduction targets set by Sourcing
• Work closely with operations to ensure smooth flow from raw material to final goods stage
• Report key metrics as required
• Attend and participate in daily S&OP meetings

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position
• Detail Oriented and excellent organization skills
• Excel: reports, pivot (macros is a plus)
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and functions
• Self- starter & problem solver
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Analytical, motivated
• Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Leadership skills
• Supply & Manufacturing experience
• Excess and obsolete inventory
• Production control knowledge
