Assistant Controller

We are looking to add an Assistant Controller at Pura. The right candidate would describe themselves as someone who is detail oriented yet flexible and quick to get things done but ensures things are done right. This person will have lots of growth opportunities as Pura continues to scale.

This position is Full Time and is compensated depending on experience.

A Day in the Life of the Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will coordinate with the VP of Finance and the leadership team to manage accounting, auditing and budgeting within Pura. They will prepare financial statements to summarize and forecast the financial status of Pura. They will produce and manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses. The Assistant Controller will ensure timely completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and create operational improvements to decrease the time to close. The Assistant Controller will frequently be using accounting software (NetSuite) to maintain records and prepare reports. They will work to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances and ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. They could also find themselves managing activities in the accounts payable/receivable functions. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field 
• Masters degree in accounting or MBA preferred
• Five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, public accounting preferred
• Proven experience in accounting function and in identifying and driving improvements
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
• Ability to produce forecasted cashflows and balance sheet
• Excellent critical thinking skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
