Pulmonary & Critical Care Consultants, Inc. is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner - Pulmonary and Critical Care (Night Shift) Near Troy, OH

Pulmonary and Critical Care Consultants, Inc, is seeking to hire experienced candidates for the position of Pulmonary and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner. This role will treat a multitude of patient populations in the ICU and inpatient floor units at Upper Valley MedicalCenter, Troy, OH.

Qualified applicants include Advanced Practice Registered Nurses with appropriate training and experience. Seeking candidates for full time night shift coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with physicians and other clinicians in providing comprehensive care for critically ill patients and non-critically ill patients hospitalized with acute pulmonary conditions for which consultation is required; performs health assessment, histories, physical examinations, and written documentation
  • Accepts new patient admissions and consultations; complete initial evaluation and Management with indirect physician supervision in a highly supported environment
  • Provides follow-up and communicates treatment plan to other care team members.
  • Ensures the appropriate tests and treatments are ordered and completed in a timely manner.
  • Performs procedures associated with full scope of inpatient management including central venous catheterization, arterial catheterization, thoracentesis, chest tube placement and management, intubation (procedural competency is not required to apply), code blue management.

Nature and Scope

  • Knowledge of the professional medical practice to give and evaluate patient care. Must be confident in the subjective and apply and modify the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide ongoing patient care. Competent in taking medical history, assessing medical conditions and interpreting findings. Ability to maintain quality assurance and quality control standards. Capable of reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Excellent communication skills with both patients and colleagues are essential.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited NP program.
  • Applicant must be a certified NP (Current State of Ohio licensure is required and should be maintained at all times)
  • Applicant must have current Certificate to Prescribe
  • Applicant must maintain current BLS/ACLS certification
  • Past pulmonary and critical care experience is strongly preferred but not required; procedural experience is preferred but not required
  • A thorough understanding of HIPAA law is required and professional discretion must be demonstrated at all times.
  • Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with both patients and colleagues are essential. Must demonstrate empathy and compassion in a variety of clinical situations.
  • Job requires multitasking in a high intensity environment while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Computer literacy is required and must include Excel, Word and Outlook, and Electronic
  • Medical Records experience is an advantage, preferably EPIC.
