Job Title: Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner

Introduction: We are seeking a collaborative and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Pulmonary Consultants, Inc. This position emphasizes a strong partnership with physicians in providing comprehensive care to patients with pulmonary conditions, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about collaborative practice, dedicated to delivering high-quality care, and committed to improving outcomes for individuals with respiratory ailments.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with pulmonary conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and pulmonary fibrosis.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians to review patient histories, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Treatment Planning and Management:
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and interventions as appropriate, and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and disease progression.
  • Educate patients and their families on pulmonary conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and self-management strategies.
  • Inpatient Care:
  • Provide direct patient care in inpatient settings, collaborating closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in the management of acute respiratory distress, ventilator support/weaning, and post-operative care for pulmonary patients
  • Outpatient Care:
  • Conduct outpatient clinics for pulmonary consultations, follow-up appointments, and disease management.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to assess chronic conditions, optimize treatment regimens, and address patient concerns.
  • Educate patients and their families on pulmonary conditions, self-management strategies, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Continual on the job learning about the most up to date aspects of pulmonary, critical and sleep medicine.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for patients, facilitating access to support services, community resources, and advanced treatment options.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialization in Adult-Gerontology or Family Practice.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
