Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with prior experience in medical office administration. This role requires proficiency in multitasking, as you will be responsible for a variety of front desk duties including answering phones, checking in patients, processing co-payments, coordinating prior authorizations, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming and professional demeanor, providing assistance as needed.
- Answer phones promptly and handle inquiries with courtesy and efficiency.
- Schedule appointments accurately, taking into account patient needs and provider availability.
- Verify patient information and update records with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Process co-payments and insurance information accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and obtaining prior authorizations for medical procedures or treatments.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
- Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and facilitate smooth workflow.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Continuously uphold professional standards of conduct and appearance, representing the practice in a positive light at all times.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is preferred.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in multitasking and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing software is a plus.
- Prior authorization knowledge and experience required.
- Basic medical knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts (No Holidays)
