Pulaski County is Hiring a Filter Technician Near Somersert, Kentucky, KY

Description: FILTER TECHNICIAN AND BACK UP FOR TEAM CLEANING TEAMS

Perform filter changes at all schools helping in longevity and maintenance of HVAC units. Will also serve as a back up in the case of a member of the team cleaning crew's absence.

Job Summary: 3-11:30pm FILTER TECHNICIAN

(Day shift in summer and days without students)

  • Filter team will meet at central office and go to all schools, changing filters in all units.
  • Some schools can be done in a day and others may take several days.
  • All schools will be done on rotations, ensuring all filters are changed in a timely manner
  • Keep log of filters orders and a spreadsheet on filter changes by date to ensure no units are missed
  • Communicate with Central Office Supervisors
  • Order Filters as needed for each school
  • Perform other duties as assigne
  • Plan and implement appropriate responses to emergency situations.
  • Respond to emergency cleanups such as spills; repair needs and safety issues.
  • Be prepared to fill in as a backup for the Team Cleaning Groups incase of an absence
  • If filling in for Team Cleaners, perform routine custodial activities at assigned District school site
  • Clean classrooms and restrooms if applicable
  • Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, toilets. clean mirrors, tile and windows.
  • Wash windows and walls periodically and empty pencil sharpeners daily.
  • Clean venetian blinds, dust and polish furniture and woodwork
  • Lock and unlock doors and gates as appropriate; maintain security of assigned areas.
  • Participate in major summer cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Qualifications:

High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate, two years experience in custodial operations.

Knowledge of:

  • Basic methods, materials, tools and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance.
  • Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Proper lifting techniques and ladder safety
  • Principles of training and providing work direction.
  • Safety regulations.

Ability to:

  • Perform routine custodial activities .
  • Use cleaning materials, equipment and methods according to predetermined standards.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of the schedules, procedures and use of equipment and supplies
  • Learn appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
  • Maintain tools and equipment signed in clean working order and provide proper security.
  • Perform minor non-technical repairs.
  • Perform heavy physical labor.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
  • Inspect and assure the security of facilities during the assigned shift.
  • Walk, bend, lift, push and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Work independently with little direction.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting, climbing and/or walking
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
  • Must be able to lift one-third of their body weight, not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
