Puget Sound Pipe is a premier wholesale distributor of pipe, valves and fittings in the Pacific Northwest & Alaska. We are currently looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented person with good communications skills to join our team and be out in front of our warehouse operation at our Anchorage, AK Branch location. This individual will need to be driven to take care of our walk in customers and help them find what they need to complete their job.

Hired candidates will be working onsite at the branch location. There is no relocation assistance available.

Basic Duties:

• Write orders for walk-in and phone customers.
• Process credit card, cash and check transactions per company policies.
• Assist customers in finding correct parts or something that we have that works for them.
• Write Purchase orders to vendors and transfer material from other branches.
• Calculate freight and best shipment method to move material to meet customer demands.
• Expedite shipments created to meet promised ship schedule.
• Communicate via email, phone and in person.
• Answer phone to take customer orders or provide updates on order status.
• Build customer base and loyalty.
• Check, pull or load customer orders when needed.
• Maintain Will Call area, Will Call door area, shelves and inventory.
• Sign for FedEx/UPS shipments and take to receiving area.

Desired Experience/Skills:

• Inventory system experience (Solar, Eterm, Eclipse, etc..)
• RF barcode scan gun
• Credit card sales
• Forklift certification
• Use of Excel, Outlook
• Experience with freight and/or shipping
• Positive attitude, good communication skills and be customer focused

• HS Diploma or equivalency
• Pass pre-employment drug screen
• Pass Background Check
• Must currently possess and maintain a current and clear driving record
