Pueblo Community Health Center is Hiring an OB Ultrasound Tech Near Pueblo, CO

OB Ultrasound Tech: Starting Pay Range: $41.00 - $46.00 an hour

Job Summary:

  • The OB Ultrasound Technician will perform general, obstetric ultrasound and gynecological procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. The Sonographer works closely with the healthcare team presenting data and images for interpretation and help in any interventional procedures. Performs high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs.

  • Perinatal Services Manager

Supervision Exercised:

  • None

Education/Experience/License/Certification:

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) Certification.
  • OB/GYN credential preferred
  • Current B.L.S. with skills demonstration C.P.R. certification for Healthcare Providers required

Required Travel:

  • Infrequent travel may include limited local travel

    • Essential to have ability to read and understand written materials and ability to compose information/instruction in written form.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
    • Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel files, correspondence, meetings, telephone and or conversations.
    • Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
    • Clean and sterilize the ultrasound equipment and room in which the procedure takes place, between patients. 
    • Perform the ultrasound ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images of every angle / section that must be assessed.
    • Evaluate images for quality and interpret what was captured in the image.
    • Present images and preliminary finding to physicians and healthcare team.
    • Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
    • Follow safety standards in operating equipment.
    • Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition.

    • The employee frequently communicates with employees and the public while performing routine office tasks and must be able to exchange accurate information.
    • The employee frequently retrieves and disseminates information using written materials and electronic devices.
    • Has verbal skill to instruct the patient while performing duties of Sonographer.
    • Frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eyehand coordination for operation
    • The employee frequently moves or positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds while performing patient care tasks and routine office duties such as opening file drawers, moving patient files, etc.
