RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Directly responsible to the building principal or his / her designee.
B. Responsible for assisting the teacher(s) in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order that students may learn effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. 60 College Credit hours minimum, Missouri Teaching Certification PREFERRED
B. Ability and personality to work with colleagues teacher and other staff.
FUNCTIONS
A. Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
B. Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children.
C. Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
D. Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual children.
E. Provides escort assistance for children as necessary.
F. Helps maintain informal student performance records.
G. Assists teacher(s) on maintaining student work and study areas.
H. Assist with the supervision of children during play periods.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT
The period of employment is the school term or nine and one-half (9.5) months annually (40hours per week).
