Public Interest Registry is Hiring a Nonprofit Partnerships Associate - Intern Near Reston, VA

At PIR the Strategic Partnerships team’s mandate is to identify and champion new business partners and partnership channels to build new revenue streams. Our objective is to build relationships with partners that can help us develop new ways for impact-driven organizations to get a domain name, build a brand online, and grow their presence and community meaningfully.

To do this successfully PIR needs to develop deep expertise into two areas:

•Understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities for a nonprofit mission driven organization.

At the intersection between the needs of the nonprofit, and the offerings of a partner, PIR has an opportunity to serve. We are looking for an intern what has an interest in learning about the nonprofit space and product offerings that are targeted towards nonprofits.

•All nonprofit organizations have natural lifecycles, from a grassroots idea to peak vitality to a turnaround (or termination) – and along this trajectory there are different things that organizations need.

•By charting the lifecycle of the organization, leaders gain a frame of reference that helps them make informed decisions.

•This research could take multiple forms and could look at the whole lifecycle with a focus on a few needs or look at things end to end.

Additional Responsibilities

●Conduct web-based and telephone research of existing events across the nonprofit and mission-driven communities, i.e., conferences, workshops, webinars, and podcasts, that can lead to partnerships opportunities and inform direction.

●As appropriate, assist with outreach to target organizations in support of envisioned collaboration opportunities.
