Overview

University Instructors (UI) is seeking a dynamic Academic Specialist with a passion for instructional design, supervision, and coaching for classroom instructors. In this role, you will work in schools observing classroom instruction and providing feedback to UI instructors. You will work directly with program management staff to ensure that UI instructors are delivering high-quality instructional services to students in our partner districts.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Perform on-site observations of UI instructors within a K-12 classroom/instructional setting
  • Share instructional feedback from classroom observations with program management staff anddevelop Instructional Coaching Plan as needed for UI instructors
  • Create and/or deliver training and professional development sessions for UI Instructors
  • Function as a resource in the areas of instructional pedagogy, assessment practices, and classroommanagement for UI instructors and program management team
  • Complete required documentation pertaining to school visits including but not limited to observationnotes, recommended next steps for improvement in instructional design and delivery
  • Analyze student performance data in UI classrooms and submit recommendations for improvementswithin the instructional setting to advance student achievement to the program management teamwhere applicable
  • Provide feedback to the program management team on the program implementation, student datareporting, and program success measures
  • Maintain a positive relationship with school administration and staff in conjunction with the programmanagement team
  • Attend client meetings when appropriate

Qualifications

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who possesses:

  • Instructional design and delivery experience in the K-12 educational setting
  • Administrative experience that includes knowledge of and experience completing the teacher observation cycle
  • Familiarity with state accreditation standards
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • An understanding of instructional pedagogies and methodologies
  • Excellent people skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Competence in working independently, with little supervision, and collaboratively, as an active participant in a team
    Education and Work Experience

As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for advocating for and helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to:
Possess a bachelor’s degree, K-12 administrative licensure preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a K-12 educational environment
  • K-12 experience leading areas that include instruction, curriculum, and/or administrative leadership positions

Compensation

$60-$65/hour
