Job Title: Custodian
Department: Facility Operations
Reports To: Manager of Facility Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Prepared Date: April 09, 2018
Summary: Performs general cleaning tasks including the proper handling and disposal of bio-hazardous materials and is proficient in all custodial maintenance tasks at parking facilities managed by the Public Building Authority (PBA) by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive. They represent typical elements and criteria necessary to successfully perform the job. Some job duties will only be performed in designated areas while others are daily and/or periodical.
1. Operates ride-on sweeper/scrubber.
2. Use gasoline powered blower in stairwells, garage and lot perimeters.
3. Occasionally cleans light fixtures.
4. Occasionally empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
5. Remove graffiti as needed.
6. Notifies supervisor of supply needs.
7. Consults with and advises supervisor of facility needs or equipment problems on an ongoing basis.
8. Performs other related activities as assigned by supervisor.

Safety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines. Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor or appropriate PBA personnel. Uses equipment and materials properly. Read and interprets Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemical and supplies used.
Attendance/Punctuality: Is consistently at work and is on time.
Dependability: Follows instructions and responds to management direction. Completes tasks on time or notifies supervisor of anticipated delay.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years’ related work experience preferred in all phases of cleaning; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
