PTS is Hiring a Packager Near Warren, MI

About the Role

The Packager provides on-site support for the packaging of all company products by completing tasks assigned by the Packaging Manager that include weighing and packaging finished product. This position helps maintain workspace cleanliness and follows strict quality control measures to ensure high-quality product.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Learning and following company packaging practices; Ensure daily compliance with policies including but not limited to; state compliance, security protocols, and company SOPs.
  • Maintain organization while packaging products.?
  • Apply proper labels and barcodes to products.
  • Weigh and package finished product into a variety of desired weights and packaging materials.??
  • Verify correct products and lot numbers; verify product quantities.
  • Work with team members and supervisor to meet or exceed all weekly and monthly production goals.?
  • Report all quality control issues to the Lead or Supervisor immediately.?
  • Maintain accurate records of products packaged to ensure proper product identification and quality control.?
  • Handle inventory with care and attention to detail.?
  • Maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of production area.
  • Make sure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated as needed.
  • General cleaning duties, e.g., scrubbing and sanitizing trays and tools and cleaning miscellaneous equipment.
  • Sanitizing rooms according to best practices.
  • Adhering to strict biological security protocols to aid in the efforts of preventing contamination.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Prolonged periods of hand use.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at appropriate times as this position may be exposed to splash hazards, high temperatures, and chemicals.

Must Haves

Education and Experience:

  • To remain compliant with state law, you must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in general production or manufacturing position.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
