PTI - Polymer Technologies is Hiring an Engineering Assistant (Project Manager) Near Clifton, NJ

Summary: The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for contributing to the Engineering department's overarching goals. S/he will provide primary administrative support as directed by the manager to the Engineering Department. S/he will coordinate critical information between departments on behalf of the Engineering department. The ideal candidate will optimistically take on the challenge of providing feedback regarding continuous improvement, initiating changes to Engineering documents, managing multiple projects and their deadlines, and developing operation-critical Engineering reports. This position requires a flexible hands-on problem solver who will contribute to an innovative, fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, (8:00am to 5:00pm)
Working Environment: 100% on-site
FLSA Status:
Exempt (not eligible for overtime pay)

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Essential Functions

· Ensures the department's projects are completed within budget and in a timely fashion by tracking and reporting on due dates and potential roadblocks affecting project execution and delivery

· Contribute to PTI’s continuous improvement initiative and consistency efforts through data collection & analysis, SPC, and root cause analysis.

· Scan all documents and information into Company databases as needed.

· Update files and data on the Company's ERP system.

· Assist the production team with the changeover and setup of work cells; and training of unskilled laborers on work cells

· Develop engineering documents including work instructions, visual aids, process sheets, and drawings within a controlled document system

· Work closely with various departments to ensure the department's project timelines are moving forward to meet established due dates

Qualifications

· Associate degree
· 3 years’ experience as a project manager or administrative support staff in an Engineering department
· Working knowledge of project management principles
· Previous experience in a production manufacturing environment (preferred not required)
· Ability to read, write and communicate in English
· Ability to communicate and present information to a small or medium-size audience

· Poised under pressure with the flexibility to switch gears at a moment’s notice
