Job Summary:

Responsible for the calibration of all test and measuring equipment to the requirements of the quality system. Must be familiar with industry specifications and PTC QMS documentation. Refurbishment and hands-on calibration will be performed where feasible and outside calibration will be quoted and arranged. Must interface with all departments and outside suppliers of parts and service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage calibration program for Test & Measuring Equipment (TME) to ensure all gauges and test devices are calibrated in accordance with industry requirements.
  • Plan/Schedule TME calibrations to minimize potential interference with production schedule
  • Issue Vendor Purchase Requests for applicable TME calibrations
  • Assist Manager with other duties as required
  • Ensure all departments follow procedures
  • Work as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Education: Four year college degree in manufacturing related study i.e. Quality, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Years of Experience: 3 years’ experience performing QA/QC duties in manufacturing environment

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.

Required Skills: Must have working knowledge of Quality System requirements for Quality Management Systems. Must have minimum 3 years’ experience working in a QMS-oriented manufacturing or testing environment. Ability to read and comprehend ASTM, API 5CT, API Q1 industry standards and their relevance to manufacturing industry. Must be proficient with MS Excel, Word, and general use of MS Windows Vista or 7.

Preferred Skills: Knowledge of casing and tubing. Knowledge of threading. Knowledge of API 5CT, API Q1 standard requirements. General familiarity with: EMI, MT, UT, Thread gauges, Drift testing, hydrostatic testing, mechanical testing, and/or CNC machining.
