Job Overview:
Psychotherapy Associates of Winchester is seeking self-motivated licensed applicants who are interested in building their own part-time or full-time counseling practice in the downtown Winchester, VA area. Our practice model allows you to be your own independent contractor, set your personal fees and work schedule, and determine which insurance companies you want to be a provider for. At the same time, we offer support by providing office space, marketing and client referrals, administrative support, and group collaboration.

This position is ideal for an individual who is:

Qualifications:

1. Graduate degree in clinical mental health

2. Valid Virginia license in one of the counseling professions (social worker, licensed professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, etc.)

3. Experience working with a variety of age ranges, specific to your own interests.

4. Clinicians with specialties are preferred (EMDR, play therapy, couples therapy, CBT, etc)

Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual or family sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Assess clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute emotional distress.
- Collaborate with other health professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and developments in the field of clinical counseling.
- Provide education and guidance to clients on coping skills, stress management techniques, and self-care strategies.
