POSITION SUMMARY

 Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides support to persons served by planning, coordinating and supervising groups and provides one-to-one support to persons in order that persons may achieve and maintain rehabilitative, sobriety, and recovery goals

Behavioral Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Collaborative Teamwork: Work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
• Direct Patient Care: Provide direct care and support to individuals undergoing mental health and substance abuse treatment.
• Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed professionals.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations by implementing appropriate interventions and de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, progress, and treatment interventions.
• Communicate effectively with the treatment team regarding patient needs and progress.
• Client Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and well-being of individuals receiving treatment. Collaborate with individuals to develop and achieve personal goals.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma/GED.
• A desire and commitment to support persons served in their recovery goal of becoming independent and contributing members of the community is a must.
• Peer Recovery Specialist or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Preferred
