Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Psych360, now part of MindCare Solutions, is a leader in comprehensive mental health solutions for long-term care communities; clinician owned and operated. We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that is looking for growth with a strong team-mentality while being self-motivated.

Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000per year Bonus Opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate residents' mental health status.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings.

Treatment Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for residents.
  • 15-minute follow-ups (on average)
  • 30–45-minute new patient assessments

Medication Management:

  • Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary.
  • Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.

Therapeutic Interventions:

  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling to residents.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions.

Education and Support:

  • Offer education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions.

Quality Improvement:

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

Emergency Response:

  • Assist in crisis intervention and management as needed, ensuring residents' safety and well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Valid license as a Registered Nurse; completion of Advanced Practice Nurse Program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric Mental Health Specialty in the state in which you've applied (OH, PA, WV,)
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in long-term care facilities
  • Maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist (we will provide)
  • Direct experience with long-term care communities is preferred
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Active and unrestricted driver's license
