Medical Records Specialist

A medical office facility in Pensacola is looking for a full-time Medical Records Specialist to relay the most positive and professional image possible to patients visiting this growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with superior communication and customer service skills to join a supportive and friendly company.

What you’ll be doing to make an impact:

  • Verifies individuals via EMR system and complies with all medical records and HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Answers telephone and assists individual’s needs immediately or transfer to the appropriate department
  • Assists individuals who walk in for medical records needs immediately or directs them to the appropriate department
  • Processes faxes and mail during assigned times following the appropriate procedures
  • Ensures all emails received are processed completely and accurately
  • Ensures all voicemails are retrieved, processed completely and accurately, and/or sent to the appropriate department
  • Completes all assigned job responsibilities quickly, accurately, and within all designated time expectations
  • Ensures imaging discs received are uploaded into our PACs system quickly and accurately
  • Assists co-workers with their needs to ensure the department is compliant with all designated time expectations
  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality of work-related information and materials

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • PACs and/or medical record experience preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

What’s in it for you:

  • For this position, starting pay is starting at $16/hour, depending on experience
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
