Prudence Crandall Center, Inc. is seeking a Domestic Violence Advocate/Case Manager to work within our confidentially located shelter to support and advocate for victims/survivors who have been forced to flee their homes due to the high risk the abuser created. The ideal candidate would bring the following with her/him/they in this role:

Willingness & ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with other agencies to best support services for victims/survivors
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in advocacy, counseling, hotline or residential services preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) encouraged.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, ability to accept responsibility and to follow through on project assignments. Strong case management, interpersonal and communication skills, computer competence, ability to work independently as well as part of a team and the ability to support the mission of the organization are essential.
Local travel necessary, reliable transportation required.
Responsibilities:
· Provide services that are client-centered, trauma-informed and empowerment-based
· Provide advocacy and develop individual safety plans with clients
· Provide individual counseling around domestic violence issues
· Respond to callers accessing 24-hour hotline and provide services including crisis intervention
· Provide case management with information/referrals to victims of domestic violence and their children
· Facilitate support groups and/or house meetings
· Complete shelter intake and other related documentation as required
· Provide/arrange for transportation for clients
· Provide coverage of at least one minor holiday and two major holiday shifts each calendar year
· Be the primary staff person responding to emergencies that might arise in the facility and call for emergency assistance as needed.
General and Related Responsibilities:
· Assist in additional agency operations as requested
· Actively participate in staff trainings and meetings
· Acquire and maintain certification as a Domestic Violence Counselor
· Represent PCC at community meetings as requested
· Attend CCADV meetings/trainings as required
· Assist in fundraising and community awareness activities and agency functions
· Record and compile statistics as required
· Perform related duties as required and/or deemed necessary
This position is part-time, non-exempt from the provisions of the wage/hour laws, with no guarantee of hours and reports to the Shelter Manager.
