Growing regional lender Province Mortgage Associates is actively interviewing candidates for a Mortgage Post Closer opportunity. First and foremost the ideal candidate must be a team player and have the ability to work well with others.

Candidates must have recent Post Closing experience at a mortgage lender or bank.

Position Overview:

The Post-Closing Specialist is responsible for coordinating the resolution of deficiencies identified by the investor during purchase review. To resolve deficiencies, the post-closer is expected to review and audit the loan file, for compliance and accuracy, clarify any ambiguity or potential concerns, determine alternative solutions, work with the appropriate departments to obtain additional or corrected documentation, request investor exceptions as needed, all in order to clear loans for purchase in a timely manner. The Post-Closer uses Investor sites as well as EPPS to obtain daily suspense reports, upload documentation to the Investor for curing and purchasing of loans, monitor daily workload, document, and provide updates on all conditioned loans in the Post Closers pipeline.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews Investor’s loan deficiencies and utilizing processing, underwriting, and closing experience, in attempts to cure these without involving the underwriter, processing, and/or borrower(s).
  • Communicate with investor account representative to satisfy or escalate deficiencies and/or conditions.
  • Daily review of loan pipelines within Investors sites to identify suspended loans requiring attention and remediation.
  • Analyze and validate all suspense conditions and provide resolution by the “cure by date”.
  • Review and obtain clarity from the Investor when needed to determine documentation needed to cure defect(s).
  • Review the closed loan file to determine if suspense item(s) are already in the loan file.
  • Preparing formal written responses to investors in which an audit has been performed and deficiencies discovered.
  • Accurately track and record all events and communications of the loan file.
  • Monitor aged loans (if applicable) in active pipeline until purchased by the investor.
  • Work with warehouse banks delivering original notes and ship requests via warehouse portals
  • Access purchase advises and upload to appropriate warehouse bank via portal
  • Daily registration/transfer MIN number via MERS database and FHA MIC’s along with appraisal logging for Agency loans and case queries via FHA connection
  • Satisfy trailing document conditions by monitoring and obtaining recorded documents via settlement agents

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in recent mortgage Closing, Processing, Underwriting and/or Post-Closing activities, with an extensive knowledge of Regulatory and Investor guidelines for various loan programs.
  • Proven understanding of Agency and Investor guidelines and overlays.
  • Adheres to tight deadlines, prioritization, and organization.
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of management and third-party vendors.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Encompass LOS
  • Knowledge of FNMA, RI Housing, MA Housing, CT Housing is a plus
