Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals who need it. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting patients with their daily activities and ensuring their overall well-being. As a Personal Care Assistant you will not be doing skilled care or medication. Personal Care Assistants can help remind patients to take their medication and loosen the tops of the bottles. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Assist with mobility and transfers as necessary
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Engage individuals in social activities and provide companionship
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure the best possible care for patients
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Compassionate nature and genuine desire to help others
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Please note that this position may require occasional evening or weekend shifts based on the needs of the individuals being cared for.
