Providence is Hiring a Substance Use Disorder Counselor Near Portland, OR

Description

Provides chemical dependency assessment, referral and support to individuals who have substance use disorders/concerns and their families who present to the emergency department in crisis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field such as social work, counseling, psychology, public health and addiction.
  • Coursework/Training: CADC I Certification (MHACBO)
  • Oregon Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certified I - Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon upon hire. Or
  • Oregon Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certified II - Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon upon hire.
  • 2 years of hospital level of care experience as CADC I/CADC II or at least 3 years of direct patient care working as a CADC I/CADC II at a lower level of care
  • Experience evaluating and recommending care utilizing ASAM criteria.
  • Knowledge of 42 CFR
  • Comfortable with diverse client populations.
  • Multidisciplinary team involvement/interactions.
  • Recovering substance abusers must have a minimum four years continuous abstinence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: CADC II Certification (MHACBO)
