Description

Providence is seeking a full-time Sr. Clinical Informatics Engineer to participate in the engineering of large and long-term projects and initiatives by collaborating with architects and business teams to achieve clarity and manage expectations. Integrate the efforts of all teams within IS to effectively and efficiently produce the desired solution. Align the scope of work for more junior team members which includes identifying, clarifying, and providing guidance on the efforts required (this is not a supervisory role). Deliver design documents, software programs, scripts, configuration files, and other programming artifacts as needed to implement solutions. Ensure that all engineering participants involved in such efforts have clarity of role and expectations in effort. Research and investigate new capabilities of cloud services and other technologies. Provide timely insight and advice to leadership team to permit the leveraging of new technologies in future plans. Assist in gathering, clarifying, and documenting requirements of solutions. Work collaboratively with architects and other engineers to determine potential gaps and alternative solutions. Employee has option to telecommute full-time, reporting to Irvine, CA office. Telecommuting is only permitted from a state where Providence does business; currently: AK, WA, OR, CA, MT, NM, TX

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in an Agile development environment with geographically distributed teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems, Computer Engineering, Healthcare Administration or a related field
• 5 years of experience as Testing Engineer, Testing Analyst, Informatics Analyst, Informatics Engineer, or related role
• 5 years of experience in architecture and design of business solutions in the enterprise or cloud environments.
• 5 years of experience in virtualization technologies, networking, and infrastructure and application security.
• 3 years of experience with bash and Powershell, as well as familiarity with the command-line interface to at least one major cloud service, such as AWS, Azure, or Google.
• 3 years of experience with SOLID and other code design principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage code in a Git repository.
• Compensation is between $110,925 and $178,565 per year

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering OR Business Administration, Healthcare Administration OR related field of education or equivalent educ/experience
• Certified Developer or Certified Architect of a major cloud service upon hire
• 4 years as Agile team member or coordinator, such as Scrum Master
