Providence is Hiring a Senior Pharmacy Technician - Hematology/Oncology Near Portland, OR

Description

The Clinical Oncology Pharmacy Tech III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Prepares and distributes medications, maintaining and purchasing drug inventory, and maintaining the integrity of the Pyxis Profile System. Pharmacy Tech III work under the supervision of a Physician or Registered Pharmacist. Has advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty area in the pharmacy.

Required qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
  • 2 years of Pharmacy practice experience.
  • Experience with current pharmacy information systems (i.e., EPIC, Pyxis applications).
  • Internal promotion candidate must be competent in all at least two responsibilities from the Tech II. External candidates are required to have the equivalent experience:
  • Central Pharmacy/Principal Duties (as described in job description).
  • Code Cart and Anesthesia Tray Replenishment.
  • Conducting unit inspections on-time per facility requirements.
  • Pyxis replenishment and returns, CS distribution and documentation.
  • Internal promotion candidate must be competent one of the following specialties. External candidates are required to have the equivalent experience:
  • Chemotherapy (Sterile Compounding).
  • Specialty area (e.g., NICU, Critical Care, Surgery, Advanced Triage, etc.).
  • Longitudinal Non-Staff responsibility (e.g., Buyer, Quality Improvement Efforts, etc. (does not include passive activity e.g., Scheduler)).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
