Providence Health Plan is calling a Sales Account Manager, Large Groups who will:

  • Be responsible for retaining and servicing assigned commercial groups

  • Provide strategic account oversight, annual renewal negotiations and annual contract review

  • Consult with producers and groups

  • Identify opportunities to expand Providence Health Plan services and relationships

  • Be responsible for managing approximately $500 million of insured premium revenue, with each Account Manager averaging more than $75 million annual revenue contribution

  • Balance member and group retention with appropriate loss ratio and financial performance targets. The assigned groups include large employers, national accounts, associations and trusts

This role is a position will require for you to travel throughout an assigned territory on a weekly basis. Providence welcomes residents to apply that live within a daily commutable distance of our office locations listed below:

  • Oregon: Beaverton, Portland

  • Washington: Vancouver

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience in all aspects of health plan / commercial group benefit sales and service

  • 3 years experience in insurance or industry related sales and/or service with emphasis on direct, in person client contact required

  • Experience and comfort with public speaking and/or group presentation

  • Required upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 5 years experience in insurance or industry related sales and/or service with emphasis on direct, in person client contact required

  • 5 years' experience in fully insured employer sponsored health insurance sales or account services

  • 5 years' experience in employer based medical health insurance account plan management

  • Strong carrier background with understanding of Health Plan operations and customer service issues balanced with changing market needs

  • Experience managing a territory of insurance producers and associated customers

  • Experience working with health insurance producers

  • Experience renewing and negotiating annual renewals with underwriting and insurance producers

  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM programs to manage a renewal pipeline

  • Life and Health Insurance Licensure in the State of Oregon / Washington or a reciprocating State (within 1-3 months of hire date)
