Patient Services Specialist at Providence Newberg Medical Center (On-Call, Variable Schedule).

Responsible for the efficient and orderly registration of inpatients and outpatients in the Emergency Department. Ensures that accurate patient information is collected in a prompt and courteous manner.

Required Qualifications :

• Coursework / Training : Knowledge of medical terminology obtained college coursework or equivalent educ / experience
• 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration.
• Healthcare experience, in either a provider or payor site.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Coursework / Training : Satisfactory completion of college level Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course.
• National Certification of CHAA upon hire.
• Registrar and third party payor experience.
• Experience with State, Federal and other regulatory Compliance Regulations, including : Medicare Secondary Payor, EMTALA, and ABN.
