Manager Charge Description Master *Remote - Most states eligible*

This job is responsible for Chargemaster Production Support/maintenance and implementation/deployment of the Providence standard CDM to Providence Hospitals, Affiliates, and Community Technology Partners. CDM Production Support includes coordinating with local Revenue Integrity and clinical departments to research and maintain charges in the Providence standard CDM, and coordinating processes to ensure that maintenance is completed in a timely and accurate manner. The manager is responsible for the evaluating, planning, and implementing opportunities to strengthen charge capture processes and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Nursing, Healthcare, Finance, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Hospital Chargemaster including inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB04) and CMS Medicare reimbursement methodology and knowledge of revenue codes, CPT, HCPCS assignment, in a multi-hospital or integrated health system. In addition to work experience, preferably the candidate without a Bachelor's degree will have AA or college coursework and/or Coding Certificate.

  • Upon hire: Current Epic Certification in Hospital Billing (HB) Revenue Integrity CDM, from Epic Madison

  • Seven years: Experience in Hospital Chargemaster, including inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB04) and CMS Medicare reimbursement methodology and knowledge of revenue codes, CPT, HCPCS assignment, preferably in a multi-hospital or integrated health system.

  • Three years: Staff management, operational performance improvement, or project management experience.

  • Three years: Epic EMR Experience related to Chargemaster.

  • Three years: Experience with CDM Maintenance tools/software such as Craneware, Vitalware, nThrive.

  • Five years: Experience with Hopsital charging practices.

  • Five years: Experience and proven proficiency in MS Windows and Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree: Nursing, Healthcare, Finance, Business or related field.

  • Upon hire: Healthcare Finance Certificate from HFMA

  • Upon hire: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
