Health Unit Coordinator at Providence Medford Medical Center. This posting represents a .5 FTE, par-time evening shift opening (Monday- Friday 7pm-11pm).

The Health Unit Coordinator is a key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; and collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the "tone" of the unit/shift.

Required Qualifications:

• Medical terminology course Or equivalent educ/experience

• 1 year experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program.

• Experience with a variety of software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year post high school education.

• Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework Or equivalent educ/experience

• Upon hire: National Certification Health Unit Coordinator

• Experience as a preceptor/role model.

• Excellent communication skills
