Providence is Hiring a Remote Director Software Engineering

Description

This position is remote with some in person meetings required and can only be located in the states of WA, OR, or CA.

Our Software Engineers take end-to-end ownership for development and quality of solutions and services that delight caregivers and add strategic value to Providence Health. They build products and applications by evaluating requirements, estimating costs, and designing and implementing software development best practices. They define and implement the quality criteria for their solutions and services, using measurements and insights to understand and validate the quality of experience for caregivers. They manage and improve the engineering process, manage risks, dependencies and compromises, and integrate software into broader ecosystems and/or solutions and services. They work on agile teams with other team members, software engineers, data engineers, designers, data governance managers, product owners and product managers. They are the foundation of each product development team and make up our very fabric of excellence.

We are looking for an experienced technical director to lead our software engineering function. You will lead and hire software engineers, and your technical and management skills will be instrumental in creating a center of excellence in our department. You will also collaborate with other teams, including our teams at the Providence Global Center in Hyderabad, India, to build a community of practice across teams and departments at the enterprise. Your team members will work on multiple products on our scrum teams by using SAFe methodology and you will ensure they draw on the same best practices and standards you put in place to build products for our caregivers that delight and ease their way.

Required qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering and related technical fields Or equivalent educ/experience.

  • 10 or more years related experience; more preferred.

  • Leading technical teams in a complex and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong experience with leveraging the power of data and metrics to drive behavior, process and priority decisions across the team and IS.

Preferred qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering and related technical fields.

  • Strong experience working with both the product and technical sides of issues

The salary range listed for this position MIN:$79.20 to MAX:$131.66 per hour is based upon the primary work location Renton, WA posted. This position is remote. Salary range and offers are determined by internal pay equity and geographic cost of living differences. Salary range will vary from State and region. Salary max is limited to 75% range in order to continue to offer internal pay growth. We welcome open and transparent discussions on salary at Providence.
