Providence is Hiring an Associate Mental Health Counselor Masters - Psych Hospital Acute Adult Near Spokane, WA

Description

The Therapist Associate practices in a treatment setting under clinical supervision and is dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. They will collaborate with patients to evaluate and diagnose mental health concerns, provide individual/family therapy, facilitate group therapy sessions to reduce and /or resolve symptoms of psychiatric disorders. The Therapist Associate will utilize established best practice approaches and standards; complete assessment of patient risk to self and/or others; complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety; incorporate evidence based approaches to psychotherapy including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. This position works under clinical supervision, with a supervision plan to achieve licensure with a qualified supervisor in WA State.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling or Behavioral Sciences from an approved school. Or

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) in an education program accredited by the council on social work education and approved by the secretary based upon nationally recognized standards.

  • Washington Mental Health Counselor Associate License upon hire. Or

  • Washington Mental Health Counselor Associate Temporary License upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year - Master's level practicum in a behavioral health setting in an accredited college or university internship.

About the Team
