Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist - Part Time, Day Shift *PSVMC* Portland , Oregon **Description:**

**Providence is calling an Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist - Diagnostic Imaging Administrative Support (0.7 FTE, Days) to Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland** **, OR.**

**Saturday and Sunday 7:00am-10:00pm**

We are seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist - Diagnostic Imaging Administrative Support who will assist and direct patients while retrieving, organizing and inputting digital images and/or exam information into our Electronic Medical Records System (EMS). The Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for all applicable software, and interacts with many departments, office staff, physicians and patients. The position requires extensive clerical, telephonic, and customer service skills.

**In this position you will have the following responsibilities:**

* Understand and utilize all aspects of our Electronic Medical Record System, DI Tracker and the scheduling system

* Verify patient's full legal name, spelling and date of birth and accurately input all required information into the Electronic Medical Records System

* Obtain needed information from numerous sources including all medical floors, all referring physician offices, EMS, scheduling system and PACS

* Answer phones, take messages and route calls appropriately

* Courteously and professionally respond to multiple phone calls and requests that often occur simultaneously

* Collect accurate information regarding imaging procedure scheduled, physician or patient special requirements and patient demographics to avoid duplicate errors and/or refer call to appropriate person / department

* Communicate changes in imaging schedule to appropriate departments, i.e. SSU or other enterprise scheduling departments, i.e. CVL, Surgery, Lab and Pathology

* Able to work through problematic situations and personal conflicts that may arise during the workday in a positive and productive manner

**Qualifications:**

**Required qualifications for this position includes:**

* Associate's Degree in the medical field **-OR-**

* One (1) year medical and/or clerical experience **-OR-**

* Successful completion of a Providence Internship

* Basic medical terminology course, **-OR-** completed within six (6) months of hire

* Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (AHA-BLS) certification and other competencies, **-OR-** completed with one (1) month of hire

* Proficiency in the use of computers and other office equipment (e.g., fax and copy machine)

* Proficiency in data processing and Microsoft Office software

**Preferred qualifications for this position includes:**

* College courses in intermediate medical terminology and physical anatomy **-OR-** knowledge obtained through work experience

* Diagnostic Imaging experience

* Electronic Medical Records System experience

* Familiarity with electronic software and equipment (e.g., cd burner, film digitizer, document scanner)
