Purpose:
Provides daily supervision of wellness programs and personnel, including but not limited to: victims of crime, substance use, mental and behavioral health. The Wellness Team is designed to meet PHA public housing residents' health and social service needs. The RS Wellness Manager aligns, identifies, develops, and implements strategic initiatives for future funding opportunities for Wellness program sustainability.
Essential Tasks of the Position:
The RS Wellness Manager will be responsible for overseeing operations of the Resident Services Wellness programs.
• Supervise Wellness staff and build a high-achieving and collaborative team;
• Guide and coordinate priority projects, including setting metrics and identifying victims of crime, substance use, mental and behavioral health funding;
• Research competitive multi-year funding opportunities;
• Assists the Directorship with grant writing and partnership building to secure funds and resources for existing and new programs that align with RSD’s strategic plan;
• Train and create onboarding processes for Wellness staff;
• Coordinates trainings and team building activities to increase the skillset and professional growth of Wellness Staff
• In coordination with RSD Directorship oversee, direct, and facilitate staff activities to enhance interdepartmental communications;
• Manages and ensures that outputs and outcomes are tracked accurately and in a timely manner in PHA case management databases (Such as TAAG);
• Monitors individual staff members performance outcomes;
• Conducts bi-weekly program staff meetings to ensure grant requirements are being met; writes and distributes meeting minutes to Department Director;
• Supervises cross project/program activities;
• Analyze interim outcomes and adjust program design and approach to improve programs;
• Submits monthly and quarterly funder reports to comply with grant reporting requirements;
• Creates wellness program workplans, as assigned;
• Liaisons with local, state and federal agencies and organizations to identify programs and resources to meet the needs of public housing residents;
• Responsible for ensuring that all federal, state and other funding source program operational requirements are met for wellness initiatives;
• Drafts annual performance reviews for assigned wellness staff and submits to Department Director
• Works with Director to prepare funding proposals directly related to RS Wellness programs;
Secondary Tasks of the Position:
• Assists the Department Director in monitoring wellness staff members performance outcomes.
• Assists the Department Director in analyzing interim outcomes and adjust program design and approach to improve wellness programs.
Represent the Resident Services Department on various boards, committees, councils as assigned.
• Coordinates and conducts surveys, projects and studies when requested by the Director
• Assists the Department Director in monitoring program expenditures to ensure they are appropriate and allowable
• Works on researches and completes special projects as assigned by Department Director
• Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Education Level
• Four-year college degree in related field from accredited college/university with a major in the social sciences, public or business administration, required. Graduate degree, preferred
Experience in Related Field
• 3-5 years’ experience in developing health programs, required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in supervising professional staff, required.
• Exceptional data management and outcome measurement/analysis skills
• Comfortable making presentations to a wide-range of audiences
• Familiarity with government grants a plus
• Bi-lingual skills (Spanish), required
