SUMMARY: The Laundry Attendant is responsible for constant supply of clean linens for the hotel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The laundry attendant will always provide the highest quality of service to the guest and anticipate and exceed guest expectations
  • Maintain and operate all laundry equipment in accordance with established procedures, like the laundry room checklist
  • Properly load and unload washers and dryers being careful not to overload either machine
  • Fold linen in accordance with established procedures and use a folding machine and feed ironer if needed
  • Stock, clean and maintain laundry carts, storage areas and laundry racks
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to work in a team environment and take direction
  • Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Continually required to stand and walk
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Frequently required to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and twist
  • Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment
  • Must be able to constantly push/pull laundry carts (empty and full) with potential weight over 50 lbs. (may vary by property)
  • Must be able to occasionally pull linens from washer to dryer with potential weight between 25-150 lbs. (may vary by property)
  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
  • Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or cleaning chemicals
  • Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise

SALARY: $17-$18/hr
