Providence Health is Hiring a Senior Dietitian Near Missoula, MT

Description

The Outpatient Dietitian II provides individualized and group education and counseling on all aspects of nutrition, including but not limited to obesity counseling, medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education. The outpatient dietitian II who provides diabetes self-management education will focus particularly on the nutritional aspects of diabetes management, exercise, healthy coping, problem solving and risk reduction counseling, but if the CDE or BC-ADM credential is desired and/or acquired may focus on other areas of diabetes management, once competencies are met. These areas are: medication management; including adjustment of diabetes medications, which includes titration of insulin under collaborative practice agreements or a physician order and continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion training (insulin pump) as well as blood glucose monitoring, including continuous glucose monitoring placement and downloads, following scope of practice guidelines. The outpatient dietitian II will assist the Clinical Manager in the planning and implementation of the service lines focusing on nutrition, obesity and diabetes which are vital to Providence and the Endocrinology center. The dietitian II will also serve as a preceptor to dietetic interns, pharmacy students, medical residents and nursing students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
  • Master's Degree Nutrition/dietetics and/or another health-related field, such as Master of Public Health, master's in nutrition and food management or master’s in health and human development from an accredited college or university.
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Montana Nutritionist License
  • Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • 3 years of direct patient contact
