Job Description

PASA is seeking to hire part-time social workers and other mental and behavioral health professionals across our AfterZone Middle School sites. The program Social Workers will be responsible for supporting PASA’s core middle school (AfterZone) initiatives at one of our partner sites. Reporting to the Site Coordinator, the program Social Worker will support program transitions, students’ youth with behavioral and emotional needs, and support PASA staff with family engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of youth coping strategies to social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health outcomes

• Maintain collaborative relationships with PASA staff, program providers/partners, school administration, and families to support youth growth

• Assist youth and families by identifying resources, providing information, referral and support

• Consult and collaborate with other PASA personnel in gathering and giving information regarding youth, and in establishing plans for interventions and supports, as needed

• Collaborate with PASA staff and program providers as needed to promote youth success

• Provide individual youth and program-wide crisis intervention, as needed

• In collaboration with the school psychologist, provide clinical consultation to the teachers for the Integrated Support Program

• Assist PASA staff during program arrival, transitions, and dismissal

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator and/or Director of Middle School Initiatives

Schedule

• Position will end on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024

• Mondays – Thursdays, with a minimum of two days per week to a maximum of four days per week, at Esek Hopkins Middle School, 480 Charles Street, Providence, RI, 02904

• Middle school: 2:45PM – 5:45PM (with some flexibility) Totaling no more than 15 hours per

week

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years’ supporting urban youth

• Strong writing and communication skills

• Experience working with middle and/or high school youth or in a school setting

• Fluency in Spanish preferred, other languages are welcomed

• Experience with Providence- schools preferred

Remuneration

• The hourly rate with PASA will be set at $30-35 per hour.
