Protolabs Career Spotlight

Join our team as a Welder II.

This position is ONSITE based in Nashua. 

Shift: Monday - Friday 2 pm - 10 pm

You Will:

  • Operate welding equipment to create products.
  • Read and follow blueprints, drawings, guidelines, and/or diagrams to plan layout and procedures with knowledge of welding symbols and concepts.
  • Determine appropriate welding techniques.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner, and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Fabricate components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces.
  • Verify welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
  • Completes assignments with little supervision.
  • May assist less-experienced team members.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

You Have:

Education and Experience:

  • Prefer 3 years in applicable experience.
  • Prefer High School Education or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read drawings and customer prints as required.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment.
  • Mathematical ability.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal measuring tools.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal directions.

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit for the entire shift; use a computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing setting exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
