SUMMARY: Plans, develops, and administers programs to provide educational opportunities for students, to include early childhood education, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Consults with business, civic, funding sources, education staff, inter-divisional and corporate staff, and other organizations to develop curriculums to meet needs and interests of students and community.

2. Responsible for Proposal Development to expand the funding base of the Education Division in conjunction

3. Works with the Planning Department to expand the funding base of the Education Division.

4. Prepares budget and determines allocation of funds for staff, supplies and equipment, and facilities. Analyses and monitors budgets to ensure financial stability of the Division and prepares monthly division reports.

5. Establishes divisional operational policies and procedures to conform with corporate, regulatory, licensing, funding source requirements and best practices.

6. Directs preparation of publicity to promote activities such as educational programs or other services to general public, potential students, and inter-divisional and corporate staff.

7. Reviews program progress reports to ensure that objectives are met. Meets with instructional and administrative personnel to disseminate information regarding program objectives and to ensure that program goals are met.

8. Directs activities of Education Division administrative and instructional staff.

9. Works with appropriate staff to prepare the self-study leading to accreditation and state licensure.

10. Serves as liaison with accrediting agencies and funding sources which evaluate instructional programs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises administrative employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and six years’ directly related experience; or 10 years’ directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, California driver’s license, and minimum auto insurance as required by law. Must maintain a good driving record.
